Sound Familiar?
Pesky Problem
Your Airbnb feels the same all year long.
Your space is beautiful and guests love it, but your Airbnb feels the same whether folks are visiting in the dead of winter or heat of the summer. Over time, it starts to feel a little static, maybe even stagnant, and you’re looking for a way to breathe a little fresh air into the space (without spending a bunch of money.)
Let's Try This
Bite-Size Solution
Freshen up the space every few months with seasonal accents.
Seasonal accents are the perfect, inexpensive way to spruce up your Airbnb. For guests, a few amenities tethered to the season create the sensation that this Airbnb is actively maintained and truly cared for. They walk in, and the place just feels fresh.
If you’re looking for a little inspiration, check out this video tour of a fall Airbnb hosted by the interior design all star, Peggy. As you watch, count up all of the small amenities that amplify the fall season. From the mums at the door to the adorable pumpkins on the counter, the space revels in the time of year that draws so many tourists up north to see the New England leaves change color.

Here's Your First Step
Pick three amenities to rotate each season.
Now let’s make a plan for your space! What seasonal accents would you like to include in your Airbnb? For many hosts, they keep it simple. They pick two or three specific amenities and rotate out those same items each season. That might be a set of throw pillows, mugs, flowers, candles, hand soaps, wreaths on the door, welcome mats, drinks in the fridge, etc. Here’s a good rule of thumb: the more high-touch the item, the more guests will stop and appreciate it.
Whatever your strategy, just don’t forget to set a reminder on your calendar to swap out the seasonal decor. If folks walk into an Airbnb in January only to be welcomed by Happy Fall coffee mugs, the seasonal accents will have the opposite effect, representing neglect instead of that fresh, taken-care-of sense we’re after.
